*Miramar Golf Course: Designed by Jack Nicklaus, this 36-hole course features five tiers of teeing grounds and high-quality bunker sand. It is relatively less windy in winter, making it easier to play. The facilities include both Japanese-style and Western-style baths, as well as a well-equipped sauna and steam room.
*Happiness Golf Course: The fairways are wide and flat, with relatively long distances. The layout is strategically challenging, and the garden-like scenery with landscaping, unusual stones, and large rocks is soothing. The courses with views of the horizon feature palm trees, enhancing the tropical ambiance.
*Linkou Golf Course: This is the birthplace of Taiwan's renowned golf professionals Chen Chih-Ming and Chen Chih-Chung. The course is generally open, with spacious forested fairways suited for long hitters. The caddies, numbering over 200, are well-trained, courteous, and provide excellent service. The view of the Tamsui River estuary from the Linkou Plateau is also magnificent.
Notes:
In Taiwan, rounds are 18 holes without a break after 9 holes, unlike Japan. A caddy is always provided in Taiwan, and tipping is not mandatory. Golf carts are used for play. Many golf courses offer rental clubs (for a fee), but the selection may be limited and outdated, so bringing your own clubs is recommended. Left-handed clubs may be scarce, so book in advance. Shower rooms and lockers are available.
