enable-markdown: # "Mongolian barbecue" is a cooking style where various ingredients are grilled on a hot plate. Customers can choose their preferred ingredients, which the chef cooks on a large grill. By stir-frying vegetables and meats (beef, pork, lamb, chicken) together, a flavorful dish is created. Despite the name "Mongolian," this cooking style is popular in Taiwan and across Asia.
The charm of Taiwanese "Mongolian barbecue" lies in the wide range of ingredients and diverse sauces available, allowing you to enjoy unique flavor combinations. The all-you-can-eat menu includes a dual-flavor hot pot (with two types of soup), and you must first choose the broth. You can select two soups from five options: pork bone broth, classic spicy broth, Korean kimchi soup, pickled vegetable soup, and Japanese-style sukiyaki broth.
Upon entering the buffet area, I went straight for the Mongolian barbecue. There are eight types of vegetable toppings, and the variety of meats is greater than at the previous Da Gobi location. Choosing meats with a bit more fat prevents dryness when stir-frying.
The sauce area is located at the end of the buffet line, but I found it better to add sauce to the bowl first before picking ingredients. If you stack too many ingredients, it becomes difficult to pour sauce over them later. You can also reference classic combinations or the chef's recommendations for sauce pairings. It’s essential to add sauce; stir-frying without enough sauce results in bland flavors.
In the hot food section, there’s spicy boiled beef, pickled vegetable fish, and fried items. You can also pick your own duck blood and tofu to add to the spicy pot. The braised pork rice is quite delicious as well. Don’t miss out on the baked flatbreads, which pair perfectly with Mongolian barbecue; they are so tasty that I considered taking some home. There are also 6-8 types of dim sum available for all-you-can-eat.
In the appetizer section, I recommend picking some kimchi and pickled cucumbers to cleanse your palate after the Mongolian barbecue.
The refrigerated section features ingredients for hot pot, including various mushrooms and vegetables, which you can select for the dual-flavor hot pot. The dessert area includes toppings for shaved ice, small ice cream cups, and even cake available for all-you-can-eat. The drink station offers a wide variety, and the fruit is fresh and sweet, leaving me very satisfied.
