Taiwan PASS (Taiwan Fun Card) includes the 3-Day Taiwan High-Speed Rail Pass, MRT ride tickets, and round-trip tickets for the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Bus. It is an incredibly cost-effective travel pass issued by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, ensuring a safe and convenient experience, even for first-time travelers in Taiwan.
With the 3-Day Taiwan High-Speed Rail Pass, you can travel swiftly and comfortably between Taiwan’s popular cities from Taipei to Kaohsiung, allowing you to enjoy more of Taiwan's attractions. The pass offers unlimited rides on the Taiwan High-Speed Rail for three consecutive days.
You can choose from one of the four MRT unlimited ride tickets (Taipei / Taichung / Kaohsiung) or round-trip tickets for the Taoyuan Airport MRT. The Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Bus ("Taiwan Tourist Shuttle") connects famous tourist spots and major stations that are difficult to reach by other public transportation. You can choose one route from Sun Moon Lake, Alishan, Cingjing, or Kenting.
Using the 3-Day Taiwan High-Speed Rail Pass significantly shortens travel times between cities, allowing you to explore more attractions across Taiwan.
How to Use the Pass:
Redeeming the Taiwan PASS (Taiwan Fun Card):
Step 1: Download the Taiwan PASS app. Step 2: Enter the "Redemption Serial Number" and activate it. Step 3: After activation, the products included in your ticket will be displayed. Select the product you want to use, and a QR code / Redemption Serial Number will be shown. Method 1: Use the electronic redemption code from the Taiwan PASS app and redeem it and make seat reservations through the Taiwan High-Speed Rail official website’s order management function the next day. Method 2: Use the electronic redemption code from the Taiwan PASS app to redeem it and make seat reservations at a Taiwan High-Speed Rail ticket counter the next day. Station information can be found on the Taiwan High-Speed Rail official website. Reservations must be completed through the app at least one day before departure (e.g., for a train on January 2, 2024, you must complete the reservation by 11:59 PM on January 1, 2024). You can choose the start date. The pass allows unlimited rides on the high-speed rail for three consecutive days from the specified start date. It is valid for ordinary class reserved and non-reserved seats (business class is not included). Choosing One of Four MRT Passes:
Taipei / New Taipei City Pass (2-Day Pass): Obtain a physical ticket card. The card will be automatically activated at the station or bus gate, providing unlimited rides for two consecutive days. The pass is valid for one person per ride and is calculated daily, not hourly.
Taoyuan Airport MRT Round-Trip Tickets: Choose two rides on the Taoyuan Airport MRT. Present the QR code at the designated location to exchange for a physical ticket card.
Taichung MRT Round-Trip Tickets: Redeem the ticket at the Nantou Bus Taiwan High-Speed Rail Taichung Station service counter (located at Exit 5, 1st Floor, Taiwan High-Speed Rail Station area). The pass provides unlimited rides for 48 consecutive hours.
Kaohsiung MRT + Light Rail 2-Day Pass: For MRT rides, display the QR code on your smartphone at the gate to enter. For the Light Rail, present the digital ride code (QR code) to the conductor if checked.
Choosing One of Four Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Routes:
Cingjing Route, Sun Moon Lake Route: Exchange for a paper ticket at the Taiwan High-Speed Rail Taichung Station Nantou Bus Terminal counter (Exit 5, 1st Floor, Taiwan High-Speed Rail Station area).
Alishan Route: Exchange for a paper ticket at the Travel Service Center counter in front of Exit 2 of Taiwan High-Speed Rail Chiayi Station.
Kenting Express Route: Exchange for a paper ticket at the Taiwan High-Speed Rail Zuoying Station Exit 2 counter (107 Gaotie Road, Zuoying District, Kaohsiung City).
Note: For any of the four shuttle routes, you can make reservations through the Taiwan PASS app (reservations are only possible within the validity period of the Taiwan PASS). Round-trip tickets for reserved services must be for the same route.
3-Day Taiwan High-Speed Rail Unlimited Pass | Foreign Nationals Only
Usage Instructions:
After activating the PASS, fill out the "Traveler Information" to obtain an "Electronic Redemption Code." Use the "Electronic Redemption Code" to perform "Redemption and Seat Reservation" on the High-Speed Rail official website or at a station counter. Before boarding, present your passport and the valid Electronic Redemption Code at any high-speed rail station counter to exchange it for a single ticket. At the time of boarding, present your passport and the travel pass at the gate with a station staff member to enter the station and board the train. The travel date is not the same as the date of reservation on the app. (For example, if you fill out the information on 12/10, you can start traveling from 12/11.) This pass is exclusively for foreign travelers.
Voucher Validity:
The voucher is valid for 365 days from the date of issuance. Expired vouchers will be invalid. After redemption, the voucher is valid for 7 days. Expired vouchers will be invalid. This product is available only for overseas customers. Refunds are not accepted after redemption or use of the product.
If you lose the ticket card or paper ticket after redemption, it cannot be reissued. Please keep it safe yourself.
In the event of force majeure (including but not limited to natural disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, heavy rain, etc.), the organizer will consider public safety and may postpone or cancel the event, with prior announcement and notification. The organizer reserves the right to modify or change the content and details of the event or to cancel the event as needed, including matters not specified in advance.
